Over the past two months, my life has been a journey of sorting, packing, and letting go. It all began when I was tasked with emptying my mother's house after she passed suddenly, a difficult time of reflection.

As I returned to my new home, town, and state, I was reminded of the verse from Isaiah 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Embracing this new season, I realized it was not just about physical changes, but also about a spiritual transformation.

In the process of sorting through belongings, I began to meditate on the need for inner sorting as well. As believers, we are called to release the burdens that weigh us down and keep us from experiencing the fullness of God's grace. Philippians 3:13-14 encouraged me, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Letting go doesn't mean forgetting our past or dismissing its significance. Instead, it's an act of surrendering our worries and pain to God, trusting in His plan for our lives. It's like handing over the heavy baggage to Him, knowing that He is always there to guide us, comfort us, and provide for us.

The process of letting go becomes a beautiful expression of faith. We learn to rely on God's strength and wisdom as we make space in our hearts for His love to overflow. We open ourselves to the blessings He has prepared for us, just as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

As I step into this new chapter of life with my husband and son, I am reminded of the words of Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God." It is in stillness and surrender that we find His peace and guidance. So, I encourage you to embark on your own journey of inner sorting, trusting in God's love and mercy, and knowing that He has a beautiful plan for your life. May you find the courage to let go and embrace the new, as you walk hand in hand with the Almighty, secure in His love and grace.
If you need me, I'm here.
