When You Feel Like You're Not Enough
Wow, it’s been exactly two months since my last post! Things have been pretty busy around here, but I’m excited to finally share an update with you all.
I don’t know about you, but some days I feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up—with laundry, with relationships, and yep—studies too. It’s like no matter how early I wake up or how much I cross off the to-do list, there’s still this lingering weight. The house is never quiet long enough to think, the inbox keeps filling up, and I forget (again) to defrost the meat for dinner.
And then by mid-afternoon, I start to hear that subtle whisper: You’re not doing enough. Maybe you’ve heard it too.
Lately, I’ve been unpacking and trying to make our new house feel like home. It’s been nonstop—boxes, tasks, and a scary health moment in between. Some days, I walk into the kitchen or living room and think, Okay, we’re getting somewhere. But then I step into our bedroom—and the boxes are still there. Honestly, these boxes feel like a kids' cartoon—you keep taking stuff out, but more and more keeps coming, and there’s still a bunch left. It can be so frustrating.
And if you’re like me—a planner with a to-do list for everything—it can feel especially defeating. Because no matter how much I check off, the list keeps growing. The tasks multiply. The expectations rise. And somewhere in the middle of it all, that pressure creeps in again: You should be farther along. You should be doing more.
We live in a world that glorifies hustle, performance, and productivity. Our value often feels tied to how much we accomplish or how put-together we appear.
The Bible tells us something entirely different:
God never asked us to be enough. He is enough.
He doesn’t call us to perform; He calls us to abide. That means even on the days we feel like we’ve failed—when the dishes are still in the sink, our prayers feel dry, and we’ve snapped at someone we love—His grace still covers us. His power meets us right there.
One of the most freeing truths I’ve learned is that I don’t have to have it all together. I just need to stay close to the One who holds it all together. That’s where peace comes in—not from finally achieving “enoughness,” but from resting in His sufficiency.
So if today feels heavy… if your heart feels stretched too thin… lean in. You’re not alone. Let’s silence that shame-spiral voice and instead listen for the One who says:
Even now, He’s not measuring your worth by your productivity or performance. He sees your heart. He loves you—not the polished version of you, but the real, raw, weary you. And in Him, you are deeply known and fully loved.
And that? That’s more than enough.
