Good Friday: The Depth of His Love

Sisters,

Today is Good Friday, a day that brings a quiet weight to our hearts. It’s the kind of day that makes us slow down and sit still, even when our minds want to run ahead to Easter Sunday. But today is meant to be different. Set apart. A day to remember the cost.

I woke up this morning thinking about the Cross, not in a theological way (though that matters deeply), but in a personal way. As a wife, a mom, a ministry partner, a woman trying to hold it all together most days, I needed to be reminded that Jesus carried more than just a wooden beam up that hill. He carried me. He carried you.

He carried our brokenness, our shame, our guilt, our exhaustion, our tears cried behind closed doors. Every betrayal, every anxiety, every time we’ve felt unseen or misunderstood—He bore it all. Silently. Willingly. Lovingly.

Isaiah 53:4 says, “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.” Not just the sin, but the grief. The sorrow. The heaviness we don’t always know how to name.

And that does something to my heart.

Because sometimes, even as believers, we feel like we have to keep pushing forward, smiling through it all, especially when we serve in ministry or carry others' burdens. But Good Friday reminds us that Jesus sees the real weight we carry, and He didn’t ask us to carry it alone.

Jesus went to the Cross in full obedience to the Father. He submitted to the will of God, even when it meant unimaginable suffering. He trusted the plan of redemption and walked that path so we could be brought near.

If you’re feeling weary today, or distant from the emotions of this season—if you're wrestling with unanswered prayers, disappointment, or even numbness—I want to gently remind you: this day is for you, too. It’s not about what we feel. It’s about what He finished.

Let the Cross remind you that His love isn't dependent on your performance. You don’t have to have a Pinterest-perfect Easter plan or polished emotions to come close. You can come with your messy heart. He already knows.

And oh, sister, what a comfort that is.

So as you go about your day, maybe squeezing in quiet time between dishes and errands, or pausing in the middle of a packed to-do list, whisper a thank you. Remember the cost. Let the weight of today be holy, not heavy.

Jesus said, “It is finished.” And because of that, we can rest, even in the waiting.

But He was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds.” – Isaiah 53:5

With you in this journey,
